SWOG has worked with bonded labor that laid a foundation to liberate them from the clutches of landlords. The work was carried out with the help of OXFAM in 1992. A noble work was carried out which is nationwide field study on Land Ownership and Land Management in Nepal. Its contribution in Parliament Sub-committee meeting to draft bill on the abolition of “duel ownership of land” during the tenure of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuwa and he was widely acclaimed. The impact of this work is immeasurable in agriculture production in Nepal. The landless people who had been farming the land have not been given land entitlement. This laid a foundation to venture in commercial production in agriculture sector which was a step ahead to end the feudalistic system in agriculture production. The abolition of dual ownership of land bill is timely move in this direction.
